Local CDL A Truck Driver - $0.57 Per Mile - Touch Freight - Plainfield, Indiana

About the Position

We are currently seeking a Local CDL A Truck Driver in Plainfield, Indiana. This position offers the potential for yearly earnings between $72,000 and $85,000. The driver will be responsible for transporting touch freight, specifically mattresses, with routes varying each day.

Pay & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $0.57 per mile
• Dispatch Days: Monday through Friday
• Start Times: Average range from 3 AM to 8 AM

Job Details

• Route Type: Local delivery, non-static routes
• Freight Type: Mattresses
• Equipment: Operate 2016 or newer single axle day cabs and sleeper cabs
• Handling: Driver assists customer with offloading
• Route Distance: Generally 280-450 miles per route/day with 1-5 stops

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with offloading mattresses - bring them to tail of the trailer
• Utilize provided equipment such as 4-wheel carts and dollies for moving mattresses
• Complete routes in one day; delays may result in layovers
• Report any delays, breakdowns, or weather-related issues to dispatch
• Maintain a clean motor vehicle record

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable CDL driving experience
• Valid CDL
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years)
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
