GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
WYDOT is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to serve as the Lead Electrical Systems Specialist in Basin, Wyoming. This position is responsible for leading and training Technical Operations Specialists in the installation, maintenance, and operation of critical electrical and electronic infrastructure throughout the district. Key systems include traffic signals, roadway lighting, road closure systems, flashing warning beacon systems, and various advanced communication protocols that interconnect and control these systems.
As the primary point of contact for all technical issues related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of these systems, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the reliability and safety of WYDOT's infrastructure. The position works closely with construction, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure all electrical devices function properly for the safety of the traveling public.
This position is based in Basin, a town known as the "Lilac City" and centrally located in the agriculturally rich Bighorn Basin. With its small-town charm and close proximity to the Bighorn Mountains, Basin offers access to a wide range of outdoor activities, including camping, fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, and ATV riding. In addition, Wyoming is one of only nine states with no state income tax, making it an attractive and affordable place to live and work.

Qualifications
PREFERENCES/AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Preference will be given to those with the following certifications.
IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II Certification is recommended (or ability to obtain).
IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Roadway Lighting Technician Level II Certification is recommended (or ability to obtain).
KNOWLEDGE:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician II
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Some agencies may require a driver's license
A CDL Driver's License is required in this position
OR
Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
3-5years of progressive work experience (typically in Technical Operations) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Technical Operations Technician II
