Full Description

Class A CDL TRUCK DRIVER

Location: Clayton, Iowa
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $25.00/hour starting wage

Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour for night shifts, Additional $2.00 when hauling CNG with Hazmat Endorsement.
Schedule: Monday- Friday primarily, but some weekend work may be required.

Position Summary

Pattison Company is seeking Class A CDL Truck Drivers to transport materials between our Clayton, IA and Prairie du Chien, WI rail loadout facilities. Drivers will operate Hopper Bottom Trailers, and all driving is local-no overnight travel required. Candidates must be willing to cross-train with our mine department. Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate automatic tarps and doors.
  • Drive automatic or manual transmission trucks.
  • Clean and maintain assigned equipment.
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections.
  • Maintain logbooks and electronic if necessary
  • Manage and track hours to ensure DOT compliance.
  • Operate trucks for 12-hour shifts with scheduled breaks.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must:
  • Be at least 24 years old.
  • Pass all DOT requirements, including a pre-employment drug test and hold a current medical card.
  • Have proficient English communication skills (spoken and written).
  • Be capable of:
    • Working up to 12-hour shifts.
    • Sitting for up to 6 hours at a time.
    • Wearing a half-mask respirator for up to 12 hours.
    • Working safely and independently with minimal supervision.
    • Working any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Maintain high safety standards for self and others.
  • Have strong teamwork and communication skills.

Education & Work Experience
  • Must have 3 years of CDL Operating Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Priority given to applicants with previous related experience.

Certifications & Licenses
  • Valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
  • Good MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) standing
  • MSHA Part 48 certification required (Training available on-site).
