CDL A SONIC ASSISTANT | ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist the Lead Driller with environmental drilling activities, including sonic drilling, Geoprobe/direct-push drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, well abandonment, grouting, and other related environmental field services.

• Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, company policies, site-specific health and safety plans, job safety analyses, SDS information, and PPE requirements.
• Assist with collection, labeling, handling, and documentation of soil, groundwater, and other environmental samples.
• Assist with well construction, well development, decontamination, abandonment, and site restoration activities.
• Perform routine inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and preventive maintenance on drilling rigs, vehicles, trailers, tooling, pumps, and support equipment.
• Identify and report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, spills, or irregularities to the Lead Driller or supervisor.
• Complete or assist with required field documentation, including DVIR inspection sheets, tailgate safety forms, daily logs, sample records, and equipment maintenance records.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site, vehicle, and equipment area.
• Work cooperatively with the Lead Driller, project managers, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
• Travel to project sites as assigned, including out-of-town and overnight assignments.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and training necessary for the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
CDL A SONIC ASSISTANT | REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma or GED required.
 • Class A CDL required.
 • Valid Driver's License required.
 • Ability to meet company insurability requirements required.
 • Ability to comply with applicable DOT requirements, including medical certification and driver qualification standards, required.
 • Experience operating or assisting with trucks, trailers, equipment hauling, or similar Class A CDL driving responsibilities required.

 • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification strongly preferred.

 • Experience operating skid loaders, mini-excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, or similar support equipment preferred.

CDL A SONIC ASSISTANT | POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Ability to work flexible hours is required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and overtime as project needs require. This position includes out-of-town assignments and frequent travel to project sites, including overnight and multi-day travel.
This position requires driving company vehicles and transporting equipment to and from project locations. The CDL A Sonic Drilling Assistant must be able to travel with drilling crews and support field assignments in varying weather, site, and schedule conditions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed mostly in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures for long periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. Work in diverse environments such as confined spaces, various heights, and storage tanks. Work outdoors in all weather conditions; extreme heat, cold, dry or wet environment.
