Star Lumber is a well-established and reputable provider of lumber and building materials, serving the needs of contractors, builders, and homeowners. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a dedicated Class A/B CDL Delivery Driver to join our team and contribute to our continued success.
This is not an over the road driving position. Be Home Every Night!
Daily Responsibilities:
As a Class A/B CDL Delivery Driver at Star Lumber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of building materials to our customers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (tractor-trailer combination) to transport building materials to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload building materials using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts and moffetts.
- Accurate logging of delivery stops and DOT time tracking.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while on the road.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing routine maintenance checks and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
- Collaborate with warehouse and dispatch personnel to coordinate delivery orders efficiently.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, both for yourself and for others sharing the road
Requirements
• Valid Class A/B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver, preferably with experience in the transportation of building materials.
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and equipment, including forklifts and moffetts.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials and perform manual labor as needed.
• A positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and willingness to go the extra mile to satisfy customers.
