Job Summary

The Warehouse/CDL Assistant Manager will assist in the direction and coordination of night warehouse and LTL operations.

Hours and Wages

• Exempt salary position
• Starting wage: $60,000-$70,000 based on relevant years of experience, education, certifications, and comparison to other employees already in this role

Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete routes for employees who are absent
• Prepare, manage, and track department reports
• Enforce safety, DOT, and company policies
• Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and customer service
• Monitor warehouse staff, attendance, and operation productivity
• Ensure trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branches
• Assist the Warehouse Manager and other management to resolve employee issues and discipline
• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments
• Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
• Hire, train, discipline, and onboard new staff
• Travel may be required
• Perform other required duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in Business Management, Logistics or Operations Management or related field preferred
• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program
• 3+ years of experience in the transportation industry and leadership preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
