Job Description Summary:

The purpose of the Orientation Facilitators is to facilitate the day-to-day operation with Independent Contractors during the onboarding orientation. The purpose for this position is to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for the driver through recruiting to first dispatch, while displaying industry expertise.

Mandatory Job Requirement:

  • Class A CDL
  • Minimum of 3-years driving experience.
  • Supervise and grade all pre-post trip inspections for all prospective drivers in orientation.
  • Supervise and ride-along with all prospective drivers in orientation during their road test.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AS/400 type systems, and Tenstreet.

Critical Job Functions:

  • Engage and communicate daily with all prospective drivers in orientation.
  • Maintain and distribute all new driver programs and curriculum presented at orientation.
  • Administer and provide all organization-wide training documents and identify skills of knowledge gaps that needs to be addressed for all drivers in orientation.
  • Develop training materials, communications, and activities to meet the organization's requirements.
  • Create and maintain a positive atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet the company demands.
  • Answer questions related to documentation, and all other topics discussed in orientation to include answering questions that facilitators may have pertaining to processes.
  • Interact with recruiting and other departments to acquire and approve documentation needed for onboarding and driver qualification files.
  • Ensure, by completion of orientation, that all drivers completing the training courses have all documentation approved, placed, and filed within the Driver Master File and Driver DQ file for Corporate and FMCSA compliance.
  • Work closely with the with lease purchase vendors, lease purchase documentation, and lease purchase contracts.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma at a minimum.
  • One to Five years of related professional work experience with being proficient in typing and filing.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written in a classroom type setting.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.
  • Ability to handle task and administrative duties simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of the Transportation Industry as it relates to trucking.
  • Good understanding of the Transportation industry as it relates to federal and state local rules.
  • Good understanding of the Transportation industry as it relates to federal and state regulations.
  • Involved in a high degree of responsibility, safeguarding, knowledge, and controlling highly confidential personal information.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to and handle change quickly.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong teaching and people skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to supervise all road test as well as ride-along in the tractor with the prospective drivers during orientation.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach/handle items, work with fingers, distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and talk and hear others in conversations via the phone or in person. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift objects up to 20 lb.

  • Work Environment:

  • The noise level is moderate based on general conversation tones, ringing phones and laser printer operation.

  • Works in well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation 90% of the time.

  • Occasional outside work for road test and service center or field locations.

  • Occasional work near moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Compensation:

  • The estimated compensation for this role is $50,000 to $60,000.
