The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection and transportation of waste to designated disposal sites. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and environmental responsibility.Pay: $22 per hourDays: Monday – Friday with an occasional SaturdayHours: Start time 6 am. Working 45-55 hour per weekKey Responsibilities:<ul><li>Waste Collection and Transportation:<ul><li>Operate trash trucks to collect garbage, recycling, and yard waste on assigned routes.</li><li>Ensure the safe and efficient loading of waste materials using appropriate techniques and equipment.</li><li>Transport collected waste to designated disposal facilities.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Vehicle Operation and Maintenance:<ul><li>Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, ensuring it is in good working condition.</li><li>Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the fleet maintenance team promptly.</li><li>Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Safety and Compliance:<ul><li>Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while operating the vehicle and handling waste materials.</li><li>Comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to waste management and transportation.</li><li>Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and provided.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Customer Service:<ul><li>Interact courteously with customers and the public, addressing any questions or concerns professionally.</li><li>Ensure waste collection services meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Record Keeping:<ul><li>Maintain accurate records of daily routes, waste collected, and any incidents or issues encountered.</li><li>Complete and submit required documentation in a timely manner.</li><li>Qualifications:</li></ul></li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.</li><li>Two years of commercial driving experience preferred.</li><li>Strong knowledge of local streets and routes.</li><li>Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety.</li><li>Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and loading heavy items, with the ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb into the truck multiple times a day.</li><li>Comfortable working in various weather conditions</li><li>Good communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Steady working history.</li><li>Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance tasks.</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Competitive salary</li><li>Monthly safety bonus</li><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>Retirement plan with company match</li><li>Paid time off and holidays</li><li>Training and development opportunities</li><li>Uniforms provided</li><li>Free trash service</li></ul>Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
