Position Summary:

The overall purpose of your position is to provide transportation and assistance to the independent and assisted living residents of JCHC communities when they travel on the agency's van.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the following education, training, certification, language skills, mathematical skills, computer skills and/or experience is required:

Ability to read and write in English.CDL (commercial driver's license) for a 16 or more passenger vehicle.A High School diploma.Ability to safely transport residents to the supermarket, shopping mall and other scheduled trips.Ability to provide residents assistance with their packages after a shopping trip.Ability to operate the wheelchair lift within the van.Be able to offer aid to the residents as they get on and off of the van.Responsible for van maintenance.

Reasoning Ability:

Based upon the Mission, Vision and Values of The Jewish Community Housing Corporation, the following abilities are required to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this position:

Possess the ability to make independent decisions as needed.Assessment skills to evaluate maintenance needs of the van and recognize when those needs change and recommend adjustment of the program accordingly.Ability to recognize an emergency situation either in or out of the facility and be able to call for the assistance required.
