Summary: 
 
The CDL A or B Driver's primary responsibility is to safely drive the truck for picking up and delivering food. They will be the first face of Second Harvest Foodbank, representing our organization to our partner agencies and donors. 
Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions
Drive trucks safely to pick up and deliver food.
Maintain accurate records for all donation pick-ups/deliveries. 
Provide back up for deliveries utilizing the sprinter van and other vehicles that might otherwise be completed by volunteers.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with all partner agencies, food donors, and other people involved in ending hunger. 
Understand and participate in ongoing safety program.
Report equipment needing repairs to the Lead Driver
Ensure program operations comply Second Harvest, State, and Local regulations. 
Work collaboratively with volunteers and operations team.
Attend Driver and All Staff Meetings.
Responsible for ensuring the general maintenance on all vehicles driven is performed on a regular basis. 
Perform any other duties as needed to ensure smooth operation of the distribution center, as well as to fulfill our mission, drive our vision and abide by our values.

Ability to operate warehouse equipment as necessary. 
CDL-B:
Straight Trucks (up to 26 feet) and non CDL required vehicles like Box truck and Sprinter vans.

 $23.27 - $27.88 per hour

This job operates in a warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such pallet jacks, hand trucks and forklift. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must be able to work in cold environments, including cooler and freezer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to working near moving mechanical parts. 
In instances of a federal, state or locally declared emergency, Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is typically considered an essential service and emergency responder; all of its employees may be called in to perform regular or emergent duties outside the scope of their usual responsibilities.

CDL-A:
1 Year of related experience. 
Class A CDL or CDL-A
CDL-A allows the driver to operate any vehicle with a semi-trailer or a trailer with two or more axles. A common Class A vehicle is a tractor trailer, also known as a semi.
This includes combination vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
Must have the ability to complete food safety certification within six months of hire. 
CDL-B:
Straight Trucks (up to 26 feet) and non CDL required vehicles like Box truck and Sprinter vans. 
Ability to operate forklift.
Ability to operate pallet jack. 
Ability to operate warehouse equipment as necessary. 
Preferred Education/Experience
