Job Description

The successful candidate for this position will have previous experience working around an asphalt milling machine and milling clean up equipment to remove asphalt pavement. They must also have a heavy focus on safety excellence.

• Complete labor tasks around the milling machine.
• Operate broom, skid steer, bump mill to clean up milled surfaces.
• Experience operating milling clean up equipment and related heavy equipment safely and appropriately for varied conditions and situations.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks, cleaning, greasing, changing out hydro lines, bucket blade swaps, etc. Must keep inside and outside of the assigned machines cleaned.
• Operate equipment safety for all personnel on the job site.
• Communicate clearly with crew-members to work as a team.
• Work with the team to provide a fully prepared site for the paving crew.
• Display the willingness to provide the best customer service possible.

Wages starting at $18/hr. for entry level laborers. Some positions require no experience and SCA will train. Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with highway construction experience and or for possessing Class A CDL license with flat bed/ equipment hauling experience.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of previous milling or asphalt crew experience is preferred.
• General and applied knowledge of the paving process and proper procedures for quality finished work.
• Must be willing to travel. We work in AL, GA, MS, & TN.
• Must be dependable and show up for all assigned shifts.
• Able and willing to work outdoors in extreme heat and cold for extended shifts.
• Willing to work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
• CDL-A while not required is a definite plus.
• DOT Physical Required - paid for by Company.
• Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record.
