Starting Pay: $26.00 per hour
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position performs various types of maintenance and repair of fleet maintenance vehicles, in accordance with applicable specifications, schedules and standards. This position determines needed repairs and/or replacements for the City of Amarillo's vehicles; ensures the availability of vehicles in safe operating condition; and provides written documentation of repairs to meet district, state and federal requirements. This position will be required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime as necessary by the department and during inclement weather. This position is considered weather essential personnel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of automotive repair experience. EPA 609 Technician Certification, required. State Inspector License, required. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification preferred. Valid Texas Class A CDL Driver's License Required. Or ability to obtain certifications and licensing in first Six (6) months of employment. Applicant required to provide personal hand tools.
