PRIMARY DUTY:

This is a safety-sensitive position within the Public Works Traffic Operation Division. Performs front line work necessary for the maintenance, operation, and repair of all traffic control devices, street lights, and other aerial assets. Assist with sign fabrication/installation, and pavement markings. Assist other Public Works Divisions as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months experience in signal maintenance.
• Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

• Valid Class A Texas CDL with good driving record
• Work Zone Traffic Control Certification within 6 months (course must be approved by International Municipal Signal Association)
• International Municipal Signal Association Signal Technician Level I certification within 12 months.
