CDL-A Flatbed Truck Driver
Baton Rouge, LA 70801
Weekly Pay: $1,300 to $1,500 | Home Weekly | Flatbed Freight
Flatbed drivers in this operation are paid for the full scope of the job, not just the miles. This CDL-A truck driver position combines mileage pay with additional earnings tied directly to tarp work, detention, and load securement. Class A CDL drivers who prefer structured regional routes and consistent pay will find this lane stable week to week.
What the Pay Covers
Your weekly income is built from multiple components so CDL A drivers are compensated for the work that flatbed requires. Along with mileage pay, drivers receive extra pay for tarp work, delays at customers, and breakdown situations. A weekly pay protection program becomes available after the first month, helping keep earnings steady even when conditions vary.
How the Operation Runs
This is a regional flatbed operation moving freight like steel, pipe, coils, lumber, and construction materials. Loads are scheduled in advance so CDL-A truck drivers have time to properly secure freight using chains, straps, and tarps. Dispatch planning focuses on keeping drivers moving without last-minute changes.
Equipment Drivers Use
Class A CDL drivers are assigned late-model Peterbilt 579 sleepers, typically around 1-2 years old. Trucks are equipped with inverters, bunk heaters, and high-roof sleepers for comfort during the week. Maintenance is handled on a consistent schedule to reduce downtime, and forward-facing cameras are used only for road visibility.
