Full Description
The Electrical Lineworker Instructor is responsible for planning, developing, and teaching electrical lineworker classroom and hands-on field training. This includes ensuring instruction aligns with industry standards, safety regulations, college policy and procedure, and the operational needs of the program.
Anticipated hire date is 6/1/25. Instructional hours to be coordinated based on program needs and selected instructors scheduling availability. Position will be up to 22 hours per week. This position will remain open until filled.

Licensing RequirementActive NC Driver's License required if position requires the operation of college vehicle as part of duties. Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Background check required.
Physical DemandsAbility to climb utility poles and work at heights of 25 feet or greater; frequent physical activity including walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 60lbs (occasionally more) and working in awkward positions; dexterity to operate linework tools, test equipment and instructional materials; Frequently communicates with students, potential students, faculty, staff and general public regarding inquiries and must be able to exchange knowledgeable information in these situations; Repetitive motion from computer and clinical equipment usage.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in a classroom, laboratory, and outdoor settings, often in varying weather conditions. Must adhere to all safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by OSHA and the College.
Hazard AssessmentMinimal exposure to hazards in controlled classroom environments; field training may include exposure to inclement weather and electrical hazards. Proper safety protocols and PPE are mandatory.
This position requires a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy working and learning environment. Employees are expected to follow established safety protocols adhere to organizational and regulatory standards and perform tasks with a focus on accuracy and compliance to ensure the well-being of themselves, their coworkers, their students, and the College.
