Job Summary

Electra Grid Solutions is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Distribution Overhead Groundman to support the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead power lines and equipment. This position is essential to ensuring safe and efficient field operations and works under the supervision of a Foreman as part of a collaborative crew.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform manual tasks related to the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines, including:

• Digging trenches

• Setting poles

• Installing wires and transformers

• Routine line and equipment maintenance

• Assisting linemen with tasks

• Assemble and stage materials on the ground; hoist tools and supplies using handlines

• Assist with filling pole holes and trenches using hand tools such as shovels

• Flag traffic and support job site setup and safety compliance

• Maintain organization of tools and materials on service vehicles

• Clean and organize job sites upon work completion to ensure safety and readiness for inspection

Job Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A license preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire if not already held)

• Must pass drug screening, alcohol test, background check, clearinghouse and MVR check

• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice

• Available to work in remote locations and for extended periods

• Able to perform duties in all types of weather, including extreme heat, cold, and inclement conditions

• Willing and able to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as required

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, and wind

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

• Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, standing, and lifting required for extended periods

• Use of hand and power tools involving substantial hand, wrist, and finger movement

• Required to have close visual acuity for reading instruments, measuring distances, and performing detailed tasks
