ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Rotating 40 hour work week: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday; 7:00 AM through 4:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday; 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Monday through Friday. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.
Responsibilities
Operate light and heavy equipment such as a winch truck, garbage truck and other related equipment. Perform service station attendant duties to include dispensing of fuel and oil. Maintain and clean shop area. Change, repair or replace tires on City vehicles to include heavy machinery. Performs tasks of a Garage Serviceperson as required. Lubricates vehicles and equipment using a checklist. Inspects vehicles and equipment for miscellaneous repairs and safety. Completes minor services such as replacing lamps, belts, hoses and tire repairs. Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, twist, reach high and low, squat, feel, and operate light and heavy equipment and write reports. Perform safety inspections on equipment when repairing/replacing tires and lube oil changes. Respond to service calls throughout the City. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Work requires a High school or equivalency and two (2) years of related experience. A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire. Must obtain a CDL Class A with an X endorsement license within five (5) months of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
