Yard/Shuttle Driver is responsible for coordinating truck and trailer moves to and from warehouse bays, and for moving shuttle loads to Cape Cod Express locations.

Hourly Rate: $25.55 per hour

Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30pm-5:00am

Key Accountabilities:

• Maintain all safety SOP while performing yard or shuttle duties.
• Maintain all Class A CDL DOT compliance requirements as outlined in FMCSA regulations.
• Able to work road delivery responsibilities if volume demand requires it.
• Unload a pallet of cases from the truck using a pallet jack. Once the pallet is in the customer's location, place the cases in a location as directed by the customer.
• Unload cases from the truck using a two-wheel hand truck, weighing up to 150 lbs. The customer will direct the employee where to put the cases, the employee may have to wheel the two-wheel truck up or down the stairs.
• Walk up and down ramps, and up and down stairs (tight cellars, occasional walk-up fire escapes) of liquor stores, bars, restaurants, etc. Unload two-wheeler and stack product in customer requested locations

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to safely operate yard jockey tractor or road tractor in yard or shuttle capacity.
• Ability to operate or be trained to operate forklift and power pallet jack.
• Able to climb into/out of truck multiple times per shift.
• Able to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, snow, ice, as well as dry conditions.

Education/Experience/Training:

• Hold and maintain class A CDL license and all DOT compliance requirements.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be qualified to safely operate both class A & class B trucks.
• Must be able to operate truck hydraulic tailgate & identify maintenance requirements for OOS trucks.
• Yard Jockey must maintain class A CDL license and have training and experience with yard jockey equipment.
• Pre & Post trip compliance for both class A & B equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Potentially lifting weights of 20-50 lbs. from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
• Frequently climbing in and out of tractors using 3 points of contact and all safety SOP.
• Maintain all physical requirements as outlined in the FMCSA regulations.
• Must complete a background check and pre-employment drug test.
