About the role
Job Description
The CDL Driver II is responsible for transporting both hazardous and non-hazardous waste between company facilities and customer sites. This position primarily involves operating manual transmission vehicles, including roll off trucks as the main equipment, along with van trailers and box trucks. This is a local, home daily driving role.
Responsibilities
Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards while meeting scheduled delivery and pickup times
Load, transport, and unload materials using specialized equipment including vacuum systems and pumping units
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operating conditions
Complete required documentation such as manifests, bills of lading, logs, inspection reports, and delivery receipts
Ensure proper placarding and labeling of vehicles in accordance with DOT requirements
Maintain clear communication with dispatch, customers, and internal teams regarding delivery status, instructions, and delays
Follow established routes and directions while adapting to changing conditions as needed
Maintain a strong focus on safety for employees, customers, and the general public
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid CDL Class A
CDL Class B may be considered only for candidates with heavy, verifiable roll off experience, as roll off operation is the primary duty.
Tanker endorsement required
Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience, including tanker experience
Acceptable driving record
Ability to work regional routes or home daily schedules
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Hazmat endorsement
Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to push, pull, reach, and grip as required for equipment operation
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Ability to work in varying weather conditions
Required visual and hearing capabilities to safely operate equipment
