Full Description
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person.

The Motor Vehicle Supervisor in the office title of Fleet & Logistics Specialist is responsible for maintaining OCME's Fleet and Logistics equipment, systems, and response capabilities. The MVS/Fleet and Logistics Specialist may oversee Fleet/Logistics motor vehicle operators, while conducting day to day Fleet/Logistics tasks. The selected candidate will be responsible for initiating requisitions, receiving, and maintaining the operational status of automotive and logistics equipment, tolls, fuel, repairs, and other Fleet & Logistics related material. The position has an administrative function related to the tracking and status of the agency's Fleet & Logistics assets. This MVS will also support the OCME Special Operations Unit in disaster training and asset management procedures and other practical work components such as participating in OCME fleet operations. Lastly, this staff manages the property records in the Citywide GTS system to maintain compliance with State and Federal Grant Guidance. The Motor Vehicle Supervisor will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including, but not limited to, the following:
MOTOR VEHICLE SUPERVISOR - 91232
Minimum Qualifications
One year of permanent service in the title of Motor Vehicle Operator; or
One year of full-time satisfactory experience as a motor vehicle dispatcher or manager of an automotive service garage.
License Requirement
A Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements described above for Assignment Level I, at least:
a) one year in the title of Motor Vehicle Supervisor; or
b) one additional year of the full-time experience described in "2" above in a large automotive service garage.
Preferred Skills
CDL license preferred Class A. Hazmat Knowledgeable. Must possess a valid NYS Driver's license and have ability to drive in all weather and traffic conditions.
Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
