This is a highly physical and labor-intensive position.
Driver unloads freight onto conveyor systems or roller ramps
Freight is stacked floor-to-ceiling inside trailers
Average 50 to 300 boxes unloaded per stop
Average 500 to 700 boxes unloaded per trailer
Box weights range from 2 to 100 pounds
Typical box weight ranges between 30 and 60 pounds
Occasional use of a pallet jack for palletized freight
Schedule
Home every night
Consistent start times
Predictable weekly routes and appointments
Customer may require occasional six-day work weeks during peak periods
Additional workdays are typically communicated in advance
