CDL A Truck Driver - $28 Per Hour (1st Shift, Home Daily) - Elkhart, IN

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated CDL A Truck Driver for local delivery in Elkhart, IN. This position offers a starting pay of $28 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and potential raises after starting.

Pay & Schedule

• Starting Pay: $28.00 per hour
• Schedule: Monday through Friday
• Start Time: Around 7:30 AM
• Hours: Approximately 40-45 hours per week
• Overtime: Available after 40 hours

Job Details

• Route Type: Local Delivery
• Freight: Hauling wood products
• Equipment: Curtain Side Conestoga Flatbed trailer (45’ trailers)
• Handling: No touch freight; driver will only raise the curtain side and unstrap the load for the client
• Stops: 3-6 stops per day depending on the route
• Typical Daily Duties: Light warehouse work, pulling and staging orders, loading trucks for delivery
• Home Daily: Yes
• Training: Driver will ride with someone to learn paperwork and stops

Key Responsibilities

• Operate automatic trucks safely and efficiently
• Raise curtain side and secure loads as required
• Complete daily paperwork and maintain communication with dispatch
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies

Minimum Requirements

• Valid CDL A
• 1+ years of recent, relevant, and verifiable CDL driving experience
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no major traffic violations or preventable accidents in the last 3 years)
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
• Forklift certification preferred
