Job Summary-FLATBED
We are seeking an experienced and professional Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will transport a variety of goods and materials from one location to another. You will plan the most efficient route, ensure adherence to delivery schedules, and perform routine vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate has experience driving trucks and makes safety a number one priority. Valley City Supply is a family-owned and operated company that's been serving Northeast Ohio since 1961. We specialize in outdoor living construction and logistics-and we're growing! We're looking for a dependable and professional CDL-A Truck Driver to join our local team.

Responsibilities
- Driving your assigned Flat Bed truck safely and responsibly. (CDL-A required)
- Pick up materials and goods in one location and transport to another location, ensuring proper handling
- Perform routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance
- Clear and effective communication with the company's dispatcher and warehouse operators.
- Plan the safest and most efficient routes of travel
- Load/unload or assist with materials when needed
- Adhere to delivery schedules
- Correctly fill out paperwork, BOLs, etc and turn in on time.
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse teams clearly
- Maintain detailed driving log, including work periods, rest periods, and fuel expenses
- Comply with all company policies and driving laws
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Truck Driver is preferred
- Flatbed experience preferred
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Graduation certificate from trucking school is preferred
- Familiarity with GPS systems, CB radios, etc.
- Understanding of all relevant truck driving laws and regulations
- Clean driving record (no more than 3 violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- Willingness to travel regularly
- Able to lift 55lbs, occasionally up to 100lbs with or without assistance
- Must be able to squat, crawl and kneel to complete tasks
