About the role
The CDL Driver II is responsible for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous waste between Reworld facilities and customer locations. This role requires operating multiple types of commercial equipment, often within the same shift, while maintaining strict compliance with DOT regulations and Reworld safety standards. Drivers may be assigned home-daily or regional routes based on operational needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport materials safely and on schedule in accordance with DOT regulations and company procedures
Operate specialized vehicle equipment including pumps, wet kits, vac kits, and PTO pumps as required
Perform comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation
Additional Responsibilities
Complete all required documentation related to hazardous and non-hazardous transportation, including manifests, bills of lading, medical waste tracking, logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspections, and incident reports
Ensure vehicles are properly placarded in accordance with DOT regulations
Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch, customers, and other drivers regarding routes, delivery status, and delays
Safely operate vehicles to protect employees, customers, contractors, and the public
Follow written and verbal route directions and interpret maps as needed
Perform other duties as assigned to support operations
Schedule and Routes
Home-daily or regional assignments depending on operational requirements
Routes generally operate within a five-hour radius of the Asheboro facility
Early start times are common
Shifts may run up to 11-12 hours with occasional overnight trips depending on route coverage
Required Qualifications
Minimum age of 21
Valid CDL Class A
Minimum of 2 years of CDL driving experience
Acceptable driving record
Ability to safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials
Flexibility to work varying schedules based on facility needs
Preferred Qualifications
Hazmat endorsement preferred but not required
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience with roll-off trucks, end dumps, walking floor trailers, or waste operations
Mechanical aptitude
Physical Demands
Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb for extended periods
Ability to work in confined spaces and from heights when required
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Adequate vision and hearing for safe vehicle operation

It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range.
