Job Summary

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs. We are currently looking for experienced Transport Drivers out of our Lyons, NY facility. This is an hourly seasonal position. The shop/base rate for this position is $20/hour. The transport rate for this position is 28.50/hour.

Main Responsibilities

• Haul asphalt based emulsion and or hot oil throughout New York State
• Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of assigned commercial motor vehicle: This requires climbing up, on and over unit to verify everything is in proper working order.
• Transport various pieces of construction equipment to multiple job sites across New York and occasionally Pennsylvania

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with Airbrakes and Tanker Endorsement required; HazMat Endorsements preferred
• Must have a good driving record
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience preferred
• Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment
• Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
• Frequent exposure to loud noise
• Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles, exposure to high temperatures
• Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
• Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
