Dump Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator (Class B CDL)

Mr. Brown Septic is seeking a dependable and experienced Dump Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team in Port Charlotte, Florida. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently, and is committed to delivering quality service. If you have a valid Class B CDL, experience operating heavy equipment, and a strong work ethic, we'd love to hear from you!
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B dump truck to transport dirt, gravel, sand, debris, and construction materials to and from job sites.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other machinery as needed.
- Load, unload, and transport materials while ensuring proper weight distribution and secure loads.
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation work.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections.
- Perform basic maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Complete delivery tickets, daily logs, and required paperwork accurately.
- Follow all DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
- Work closely with field crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and provide excellent customer service on job sites.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of dump truck driving experience
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, or similar equipment
- Clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate equipment in residential, commercial, and construction environments
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform routine equipment inspections
- Strong understanding of job site safety procedures and DOT regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with excavation, septic, underground utilities, or site work
- OSHA certification (preferred but not required)
