Position Description
The CDL Flatbed Driver is responsible for safely operating a single-axle flatbed truck to transport and deliver materials to construction and paving job sites throughout the Tampa Bay region. This position performs routine vehicle inspections, maintenance, and upkeep to ensure equipment remains in safe working condition. The driver coordinates with field personnel to ensure timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations and company safety standards.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Directly reports to and is accountable to the Grade Superintendent.

Position Requirements
A. EDUCATION
Minimum of three years' experience driving and trucking operations.
Experience operating a skid steer or loader equipped with forks to unload materials at job sites is a plus.
B. LICENSING/REGISTRATIONS
Preferred: Class A CDL
C. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
D. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Note: The following duties are descriptive and not exhaustive. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. Major duties include the following:
1. Be on time. (start times will be on the schedule)
2. Complete pre and post trips daily - report any maintenance issues
3. Answer company phone to receive dispatch and instructions
4. Assure the truck assigned to daily stays clean, inside and out, including trailers
5. Maintain all equipment, tools and jump boxes, etc. assigned to each truck.
6. Ensure PPE is worn properly when executing job duties and in all required areas.
E. SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL
1. Enforce all rules listed in the Ajax Employee Safe Practices Handbook
2. Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met.
3. Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax safety and
environmental rules and regulations.
F. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Field operation - Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat.
2. Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required.
3 Hours are determined around workload
G. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
H. PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS
This position demands an individual with the following personality traits:
1. Accurate and well organized
2. Self-motivated
3. Capable of making prompt and responsible decisions
4. Ability to work well with peers and supervisors
5. Good communication skills
6. Ambitious
I. ATTENDANCE AND RELIABILITY
1. Reporting to work on time and not leaving early unless authorized.
2. Always providing proper notification and advance notice of absence.
3. Not abusing or taking advantage of personal days off.
4. Performing such other duties as may be required.
