Full Description

CDL-A Truck Driver | Hiring Area: Columbia, SC

Regional CDL-A Truck Driver | $1,300 to $1,500 per week
Home Time: 7-10 days out with scheduled home time
Freight: No-touch dry van with frequent drop-and-hook loads

This role fits a CDL-A driver who wants a mix of road time and home time while operating within a routing system built around coordinated dispatch and organized load planning.

Route Flow: Drivers move through assigned lanes where loads are scheduled in advance to support continuous movement across regional routes.

Daily Work: Drivers move through assigned lanes where loads are scheduled in advance to support continuous movement across regional routes. A CDL-A truck driver transitions between loads using a dispatch system that aligns pickups and deliveries to reduce downtime.

Freight: Freight consists primarily of no-touch dry van shipments. Drop-and-hook freight is used often to support faster transitions and reduce time spent at shipping locations.

Equipment: Late-model automatic trucks are maintained on routine service intervals to support reliability across routes.

Driver Setup: Each unit includes inverters and refrigerators to support day-to-day comfort for a Class A CDL driver.

Drivers can take assigned equipment home, whether loaded or empty, allowing flexibility between runs and helping reduce unnecessary travel between assignments.

Work Environment: This operation supports a CDL A driver working within a team-based structure where communication between dispatch and drivers helps maintain organized load planning.

Home Time: Drivers operate within a system built around balanced run cycles and scheduled home time, helping create a manageable rhythm between work periods and time off.
• Coordinated dispatch supports smoother transitions between assignments
• Scheduled loads help maintain forward movement across routes

Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage are available along with retirement options through a 401(k) program. Additional coverage includes life insurance and paid time off, supporting both short-term needs and long-term planning for a CDL-A truck driver.

Albany Trucking maintains a professional work environment focused on safety, fairness, and driver support. All qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to protected status, consistent with equal opportunity employment practices.
