Regional CDL-A Truck Driver
Weekly Pay: $1,250 to $1,740
Home Time: Every 14 days (east of Mississippi) / every 21 days (west)
Freight: Temperature-controlled truckload and multi-stop refrigerated loads
Hiring Area: Springfield, IL
Equipment and fleet operations in this role are structured to support consistent freight movement, reliable routing, and driver-focused performance across long-haul lanes. This opportunity is designed for experienced CDL-A truck drivers who want dependable equipment, organized dispatch, and predictable time away from home.
Equipment Overview: Drivers operate late-model tractors built for long-haul comfort and operational consistency. The fleet primarily includes 2021-2024 Peterbilt 579 Ultraloft trucks, along with select Kenworth T680 units maintained on preventative service schedules.
All assigned equipment is outfitted with APUs (primarily ThermoKing with some Carrier systems), refrigerators, and power inverters. Trucks are governed at 70 mph for both pedal and cruise and are equipped with outward-facing cameras only. Most units are powered by PACCAR engines to support reliability across extended routes.
Freight Operations: Freight consists of temperature-controlled truckload and multi-stop refrigerated shipments moving throughout Midwest and eastern freight lanes, primarily east of Interstate 35. Freight planning is coordinated to maintain steady movement and reduce downtime between assignments.
Drivers in this fleet are not required to run New York City or the five boroughs, providing flexibility for those who prefer to avoid those markets. Occasional loads may extend beyond primary lanes depending on freight demand across the national network.
Operations: Drivers typically average approximately 2,087 miles per week, with higher-performing CDL-A truck drivers frequently reaching averages closer to 2,600 miles based on freight flow and dispatch coordination. Structured routing supports consistent miles while maintaining predictable scheduling.
Benefits: Drivers receive major medical coverage, 401(k) options, and paid vacation time. A per-diem program and weekly pay guarantee help provide earnings stability for the CDL-A truck driver operating within this fleet.
Orientation: Orientation is held in De Pere, Wisconsin and runs for three days starting on Mondays or Wednesdays. Transportation, hotel accommodations, and lunch are provided. Drivers receive $125 per day while completing ELD and Geotab training, a road test, and onboarding sessions.
