The CDL Class A Over-the-Road Driver is responsible for the safe, compliant, and timely transportation of architectural millwork products to jobsites and warehouse locations across the United States. This role supports Allegheny Millwork's Logistics Department and is integral to maintaining product quality, delivery accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
The driver is accountable for vehicle operation, load securement, material handling, regulatory compliance, and professional representation of Allegheny Millwork and Allegheny Logistics. This position operates company-provided sleeper trucks and associated equipment and must adhere to all DOT/FMCSA regulations, federal, state, and local laws, and company safety policies.
Roles & Responsibilities
Operate long-distance, over-the-road commercial motor vehicles in a safe and professional manner
Transport architectural millwork materials to designated jobsites and warehouse locations in accordance with delivery schedules
Load and unload materials using appropriate lifting techniques and material-handling equipment
Ensure all cargo is properly secured, protected, and maintained throughout transport
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, and related equipment
Maintain accurate daily driving logs, electronic logs (ELDs), and required DOT documentation
Communicate regularly with the Logistics Manager, Shipping Supervisor, and jobsite Superintendents regarding delivery status, issues, or delays
Follow all DOT/FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company safety standards
Adhere to vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance schedules and report mechanical issues promptly
Operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks at Allegheny facilities as required

Familiarity with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles for extended hours and long distances
Ability to maneuver, back up, and park commercial trailers up to 53 feet in length
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
Ability to work in variable weather conditions and jobsite environments
Adhere rolling monthly schedule
Typically 5-6 days per week of driving and travel
Days off vary based on hours-of-service requirements, mandatory rest periods, and log resets
Education & Experience
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum two (2) years of over-the-road commercial driving experience
