This role allows you to drive for different customers while ensuring steady, reliable work each week. You'll also receive a guaranteed minimum pay of $1,300 per week, with opportunities to earn more based on your routes and performance.

Competitive Pay:
- Average $1,500 per week / $78,000 per year
- Guaranteed minimum: $1,300 per week if you're available to work the full week
- Starting pay: $30 per hour for local assignments; $0.60 cpm for over-the-road assignments
- Average 40-50 hours per week
Additional Earnings:
- Stop pay: $25 per stop (number of stops varies based on assignment)
- Pay for stops and loading/unloading (not all accounts)
- Detention, breakdown, and layover pay when applicable

Work Schedule:
- Steady weekly schedule with a variety of routes depending on the account you're working on
- Miles will fluctuate depending on which account you are working on
- Shifts and hours vary depending on assignment. Some assignments may be hourly, home-daily work, while others may be OTR positions that pay by miles and stops
- Driver will be assigned to various dedicated accounts in Northeast TN
- Driver may also be assigned to yard switcher assignments
- There may be times when driver is assigned to the local service center
Job Requirements:
- Class A CDL required
- Must apply for Hazmat endorsement within 30 days of hire and must obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire- will be reimbursed upon receipt
- Must be willing to perform yard switching duties in a yard tractor
- Must complete forklift training
- Adaptability: Must be comfortable working with different types of freight and customers
- Flexibility: Occasionally assist with other Averitt operations to keep you on the road and working

Job Requirements
- Must live within a 75-mile radius
- Must have 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Drivers must have Class A CDL
- Must apply for Hazmat endorsement within 30 days of hire and must obtain Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire - will be reimbursed upon receipt
- No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the last 5 years
- No serious violations within the previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with fatality)
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years
Essential functions:
- Open/Close Trailer Doors - force requirement: 46 lbs
- Count freight
- Complete fuel tickets
- Obtain sales leads
- Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs (Class A Only)
- Perform pre-trip inspections

- Regular predictable attendance
- Enter/Exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle
- Enter/Exit the rear of a trailer from ground level
