Full Description
The Truck Hostler shuttles empty and full trailers from company lots and the dock area for loading. This position additionally assists with other duties around the warehouse. This position requires night/weekend hours.
A Texas Class A CDL is required. Please complete the DOT application in its entirety to be considered.
Job Responsibilities:
- Shuttle empty and full trailers from company lots and the dock area for loading
- Ensure company equipment is in safe, working condition; reports any incidents or unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor
- Project a friendly, professional image at all times
- Prioritize multiple, competing priorities
- Attend meetings as required
- Operate all company equipment safely and in a manner consistent with company policy
Job Qualifications:
- Position requires a Texas Class A CDL driver's license with a clean MVR
- Ability to operate/drive single axle truck with 27 ft. trailer
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to coordinate multiple activities and follow through with commitments
- Good oral and written communication skills and participate well in a team environment
- Must be highly motivated and results oriented, with a strong attention to detail
- Must be organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Must be able to read and write English
- Ability to move products weighing up to 165 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- High school graduate or GED required
- Must be 21 yrs. or older to apply
Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding.
