Position Overview
The Class A CDL Driver transports goods to and from designated locations per dispatcher instructions, ensuring timely, safe, and accurate deliveries. This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and strict adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies, along with a commitment to excellent customer service. This position reports to the Driver Supervisor.

Class A CDL Driver

Position Overview
The Class A CDL Driver transports goods to and from designated locations per dispatcher instructions, ensuring timely, safe, and accurate deliveries. This position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and strict adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies, along with a commitment to excellent customer service. This position reports to the Driver Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
- Operate trucks to transport goods between locations as directed by the dispatcher, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times.
- Load and unload equipment and goods, using proper tie-down procedures to secure the load.
- Operate vehicles safely and defensively, obeying all posted speed limits, traffic laws, and company safety protocols.
- Provide courteous, efficient service and a positive, professional impression to customers and the public.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
- Operate forklifts, hoists, lifts, and similar equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and submit required documentation promptly and accurately.
DOT Compliance
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including maintaining accurate Electronic Driving Logs (EDL).
- Maintain an up-to-date DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate, readily available for inspection.
- Submit to any requested drug and alcohol testing and comply with the company's DOT drug and alcohol policy. Employees may be selected for random DOT, company, and customer drug and alcohol tests throughout their employment.
- Maintain a driving record that qualifies as "insurable" by the company's insurance carrier; MVR reviews may be conducted at any time.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to drive on behalf of Brandon & Clark.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with all classifications and endorsements required for the assigned vehicle type.
- 1-2 years of commercial driving experience required.
- Flatbed truck experience desired.
- Ability to operate a standard-transmission truck highly desired.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on a regular basis (excluding holidays and PTO), with additional hours anticipated as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy components (up to 75 lbs.).
- Ability to stand, crouch, climb or kneel as needed to load and unload trucks.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily on the road or at customer sites.
- Exposure to various weather conditions.
- Extensive travel required, including out-of-town and overnight assignments.
