Rocky Mountain Powertrain (RMPT) is an independent Heavy Equipment Repair facility specializing in off-highway equipment repair and component overhauls, including work in the construction, rental, mining, rail, agriculture, and power generation industries. RMPT is looking for a CDL A Truck Driver at our Brighton, CO location. The CDL A Truck Driver will transport customers' off-highway construction equipment to and from customer job sites, equipment yards, repair shops, and auction locations. The driver will operate a tractor-trailer combination to load, secure, transport, and unload heavy construction equipment including skid steers, excavators, loaders, rollers, telehandlers, and other specialty equipment.
What You'll Do:
• Safely operate a CDL Class A truck and Landoll trailer in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Load, transport, and unload construction and industrial equipment using proper loading and securement procedures.
• Perform pickups and deliveries to customer locations, construction sites, equipment yards, vendors, and other designated destinations.
• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections, documenting findings and reporting maintenance concerns.
• Ensure all cargo is properly secured using chains, binders, straps, and other approved securement devices.
• Maintain compliance with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Complete and maintain required logs, vehicle inspection reports, delivery documentation, and electronic records.Verify equipment condition before pickup and delivery; document damage and communicate discrepancies.
• Effectively communicate with dispatch, operations personnel, customers, and equipment managers regarding schedules and delivery status.
• Navigate varying traffic, weather, and jobsite conditions safely and efficiently.
• Assist with basic equipment inspections and functional checks when loading and unloading.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance of assigned equipment and vehicles.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
What You'll Need:
• Valid CDL Class A driver's license.
• Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
• Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience.
• Experience preferred with hauling heavy equipment and or construction equipment.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and cargo securement regulations.
• Ability to safely operate and load construction equipment onto a trailer.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
