Full Description
Weekly Pay: $1,250-$1,500
Home Time: Every Other Weekend
Freight: No-Touch Dry Van
Running Area: Southwest Regional Network
Hiring Area: Houston, TX
Schedule: Southwest Regional Coverage with Strong Freight Density
Houston serves as one of the busiest freight hubs in the Southwest, making it an ideal location for drivers who want dependable miles and consistent work. This CDL A truck driver position is built around Southwest regional coverage and a freight network that stays active throughout the year. Rather than bouncing between unpredictable lanes, drivers operate within established regional routes supported by strong customer demand and organized dispatch planning. The result is cleaner scheduling, steady weekly mileage, and home time that remains consistent instead of depending on freight availability.
Drivers who prefer a straightforward operation with reliable freight movement and fewer unexpected schedule changes will appreciate the structure this fleet provides.
Southwest Freight Network
Drivers haul no-touch dry van freight throughout Texas and neighboring Southwest freight markets using established regional lanes. Freight moves through a stable network of distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and customer locations that generate consistent volume throughout the year.
Most loads are no-touch and consist of a combination of drop-and-hook freight and scheduled live unload deliveries. Dispatch works to plan loads in advance whenever possible, helping reduce unnecessary downtime and allowing drivers to spend more time earning miles.
The freight density throughout the Southwest helps support productive routing, giving drivers access to consistent freight instead of relying on seasonal freight surges.
Weekly Pay
Drivers typically earn between $1,250 and $1,500 per week based on mileage, experience, and freight volume. Weekly pay remains consistent because of the strength of the regional freight network and steady customer demand.
Qualifying detention pay is available when delays occur, and additional performance incentives recognize safe driving and dependable service.
Home Time & Schedule
Drivers operate on a 12-day schedule followed by 48 hours at home every other weekend. The regional lane structure helps dispatch maintain organized scheduling while providing drivers with dependable home time.
Because freight flows through repeat lanes, drivers often experience fewer last-minute route adjustments and greater visibility into upcoming assignments. This allows for a more predictable work routine from one week to the next.
Equipment
Drivers operate late-model sleeper trucks equipped with:
Automatic transmissions
APU systems
Power inverters
Refrigerator storage
TV and microwave mounting capability in most trucks
Equipment receives regular preventative maintenance to help minimize downtime and maximize time on the road.
Benefits
Eligible drivers receive access to:
Medical insurance
Dental coverage
Vision insurance
401(k) retirement plan
Paid vacation
Approved drivers may also participate in rider and pet programs.
Requirements
Valid Class A CDL
Minimum 3 months of recent tractor-trailer experience
Safe driving record
Stable work history
Orientation
Paid orientation includes travel, hotel accommodations, and meals. Most qualified applicants can complete the hiring process within a few business days and begin running freight shortly afterward.
