CDL A Driver - Charlotte, NC (28202)
CK Transportation is adding professional CDL A drivers to support expanding multi-state operations. This role is designed for drivers who want steady miles, consistent home time, and a dependable support network that values clear communication and safety. If you have at least three months of tractor-trailer experience and are looking for a position built around structure and reliability, this opportunity may be an excellent fit.
Compensation & Benefits
Drivers earn $1,350 to $1,500 per week, depending on experience, available hours, and freight demand. Pay is issued weekly and supported by consistent interstate mileage. CK Transportation provides medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid time off and 401(k) participation after the first six months. A rider and pet program is available for eligible drivers, along with the option to take the assigned truck home during scheduled resets.
Schedule & Route Structure
Drivers run a 12-day work cycle followed by 48 hours off every other weekend. Freight is no-touch, offering a predictable mix of longer-haul interstate routing with average runs between 700 and 750 miles. This schedule supports strong weekly earnings while still allowing dependable time at home.
Equipment Standards
CK Transportation maintains late-model Freightliner and Kenworth tractors, all 2021 or newer. Equipment is outfitted with automatic transmissions, APUs, inverters, and refrigerators to ensure comfort and functionality on extended routes. Preventive maintenance is routinely scheduled to reduce downtime and keep drivers operating efficiently.
Minimum Requirements
• Valid CDL A
• Minimum of three months of recent tractor-trailer experience
• Acceptable driving and safety record
• Ability to operate across multiple states
• Commitment to DOT and company safety procedures
Orientation & Driver Support
New drivers attend a structured orientation with covered travel, lodging, and meals. Orientation focuses on operational expectations, safety requirements, and equipment familiarity. CK Transportation maintains a dispatch and driver relations team dedicated to timely communication, maintenance coordination, and issue resolution.
