Position Summary: The Delivery Driver Trainer CDL A is responsible for training and developing new and existing delivery drivers with a valid CDL B or CDL A license. This role ensures that drivers adhere to safety protocols, delivery standards, and company policies. The Delivery Driver Trainer CDL A plays a crucial role in maintaining a high level of professionalism and efficiency in the delivery operations.

The Delivery Driver Trainer CDL A plays a crucial role in maintaining a high level of professionalism and efficiency in the delivery operations.
What you'll do:
- Conduct comprehensive training programs for new and existing delivery drivers, including orientation, on-the-road training, and safety procedures.
- Teach and reinforce safe driving practices, proper vehicle maintenance, and accurate record-keeping.
- Evaluate drivers' performance, provide constructive feedback, and develop improvement plans to enhance their skills and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize delivery routes, improve productivity, and enhance customer service.
- Assist in resolving delivery-related issues, such as delays, product discrepancies, and customer concerns.
About you:
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a professional delivery driver, preferably in the food distribution or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safe driving practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and mentor drivers.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Organizational skills to manage training schedules, records, and documentation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy items as required.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and mobile devices for communication and record-keeping.
DOT Language Requirements
Who must meet it:
- Drivers operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) who must be "qualified" under DOT/FMCSA driver-qualification rules (including CDL-required CMV drivers).
Standard:
- Under 49 C.F.R. § 391.11(b)(2), a driver must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to:
- Converse with the general public;
- Understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language;
- Respond to official inquiries; and
- Make entries on reports and records.
