Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. As established by the New Mexico Public Education Department.

2. A bachelor's degree.

3. A valid New Mexico teaching license with endorsements as needed.

4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate.

5. Be able to pass a background check.

Applicant must be willing to work on site and in person.

Signing Incentives:

Level III License (Masters and 6 years of experience or more or NBCT Certification) $20,000.00

Level II License (BA/BS and 4 years of experience or more) $15,000.00

Level I License (BA 0 to 3 years of experience) $10,000.00

Relocation Expenses:

Up to 100 miles $2,500

101 to 299 miles $3,500

300+ miles $4,500

Relocation Incentives:

Relocation expenses for all certified/licensed personnel will be paid in full upon completion of

required employment paperwork, satisfactory background check and signing of employment

contract.

All other incentives will be paid as follows:

¼ at first paycheck of the school year (August 15, 2023);

¼ at the beginning of the second semester (January 15, 2024);

¼ at the end of the contract year (June 30, 2024);

¼ at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year (August 15, 2024). The incentive will be

prorated for hires made after the official work calendar start date but prior to September 1,

2023. Any hires made after September 1, 2023, will not be eligible to receive the signing

incentives listed above. Failure to complete the terms of the employment contract in either of

the two school years will result in forfeiture of the entire signing incentive.

Signing incentivesn are effective March 1, 2023.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the signing incentives, you must be a new employee who has not been

employed in any certified capacity by Carlsbad Municipal Schools during the 2022-2023 school

year.

Administration will provide processes and administrative clarification decisions for specific

situations that involve these incentives. This includes rules to support the incentives successful

implementation.
