Looking to earn strong pay without the long-haul lifestyle? Join Carus as a CDL-A Local Tanker Driver in a full-time contract role through November featuring consistent 40-hour weeks, overtime opportunities, competitive pay, and home daily routes.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The CDL-A Local Tanker Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of goods primarily on-site at the manufacturing facility with some off-site transfers of raw materials, specifically during the peak season of early spring to late fall. This position requires operating commercial vehicles equipped for tanker transport, adhering strictly to safety regulations and company policies. The driver will be responsible for managing delivery schedules, maintaining vehicle condition, and ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. Success in this role directly impacts internal customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by delivering products securely and on time.
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The right candidate will demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety throughout their daily operations.
Your credentials must include:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker Endorsement.
- Proven experience operating commercial tanker vehicles safely and in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
- Ability to pass DOT pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle loading/unloading tasks as needed.
Other credentials preferred:
- Possession of hazardous materials (HazMat) endorsement.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
