What You'll Be Doing:

Driver Training & Compliance

• Lead monthly safety training sessions and help new drivers get up to speed with a 90-day HazMat training program.
• Perform ride-along and mock inspections to ensure drivers are prepared for the road.
• Stay on top of regulatory compliance by maintaining driver qualification files and ensuring all paperwork is in check.

Fleet Management & Maintenance

• Inspect and oversee fleet vehicle maintenance, keeping them in tip-top shape for safety and efficiency.
• Track and manage tire inventory and ensure necessary repairs are completed quickly.
• Make sure every truck is stocked with accident management materials and that drivers are trained to handle any emergency situation.

Fuel & Equipment Management

• Keep tabs on diesel fuel usage and purchase, ensuring the fleet runs smoothly with monthly reports.
• Assess and integrate new fleet equipment that aligns with company standards.
• Monitor automated systems (ELD, GPS, Fuel Card) for optimal performance.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

• Assist with state/federal DOT inspections and navigate FMCSA challenges.
• Maintain safety manuals, audit reports, and track fleet expenses.
• Collaborate with accounting to ensure budget compliance and capital fleet management.

Logistics & Licensing Support

• Help with obtaining fleet licenses and coordinate the use of fleet resources across divisions.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience:

• 5+ years in logistics management/supervising logistics staff

• On-the-road driving experience

• Knowledge of chemical distribution operations is a plus!

• Proficiency in transportation software and creating Excel spreadsheets

• Licenses/Certifications:

• Valid Virginia driver's license (required)

• Class A CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements (preferred)

• Forklift certification (required)

• Other Skills:

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team

• Detail-oriented and compliance-driven

This is a supervisory role, but you'll occasionally be outside overseeing fleet activities and ensuring that everything runs smoothly on the ground.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
