Essential Job Functions
- Transport company goods and raw materials over land to and from distribution center, branches and suppliers all throughout Florida.
- Ensure goods are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage of material.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.
- Manually or systematically document and log work/rest periods as well as mileage spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Safely maneuver trucks into loading or unloading position.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions before moving any load.
- Report defects, accidents or violations.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A truck driving license.
- 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred.
- OSHA Forklift certified.
- Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
Other requirements.
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
