Job Title Off The Road OTR Tire Technician Summary Employee will be responsible for all aspects for tire and related service and repair for off the road equipment construction earthmoving mining farm etc as well as other duties as assigned by the manager Industry leading hourly commission pay scale Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the competencies and or ability required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Must have a valid drivers license for the type of vehicle required for the position and be able to meet commercial driver qualification requirements CDL license required Operation of a 30000 pound GVW OTR Service Boom Truck Follow established procedures to inspect tires and wheels before and after service Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors Document work performed accurately and according to company policy Operation of heavy duty tire service equipment and tools including boom cranes cribbing jacks compressors electric and hydraulic equipment Unbolt and re bolt wheels fromto equipment using lug wrenches and other hand and power tools Mount and dismount any type of off the road tire including but not limited to multi piece rims Match mating of dual assemblies Identify and inflate tires correctly for the size ply and load requirement Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects Perform service calls on nights andor weekends on a rotating basis Proper maintenance of assigned service vehicle including appearance as well as on board service equipment and tools Compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations and safety requirements pertaining to this position Knowledge Skills and Abilities Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance Operation and Control Controlling operations of equipment or systems Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying taking time to understand the points being made asking questions as appropriate and not interrupting at inappropriate times Operation Monitoring watching gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly Time Management Managing ones own time Extent Flexibility the ability to bend stretch twist or reach with you body arms andor legs Static Strength the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift push pull or carry objects Knowledge of commonly used tools Ability to recognize and used a variety of tools including but not limited to power tools and heavy duty tire service equipment Operating Vehicles Mechanized Devices or Equipment Running maneuvering navigating or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles Performing General Physical Activities Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling or materials Inspecting Equipment Structures or Material Inspecting equipment structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects Making Decisions and Solving Problems Analyzing information and evaluation results to choose the best solution and solve problems Work Styles Attention to Detail Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks Dependability Job requires being reliable responsible and dependable and fulfilling obligations Cooperation Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good natured cooperative attitude Independence Job requires guiding oneself with little or not supervision and depending on oneself to get things done Integrity Job requires treating people with respect keeping commitments working ethically and upholding Colony Tires values Stress Tolerance Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts;
