Shift: Full-Time, Monday Through Friday weekends home
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our customers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. The Ideal candidate will provide customer responsiveness and efficient material handling and delivery activities. This is a hands-on regional delivery driving position.
Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer's location and/ or return products
Deliver material in "route truck/multi-drop" fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas
Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law
Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact
Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
2-3 overnight runs per week
May perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
1 year of flatbed experience
Clean driving record
Willing to strap flatbed loads
Operate trailer mounted forklift
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
Multi-drop delivery experience a plus
Ability to work independently or with a team
Ability to plan and manage time efficiently
Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
