Description

Dallas 1 Construction & Development is a family-owned business that has been operating for over 30 years. We are looking for a full-time CDL A Driver/Laborer to join our team! This is a key role on our team as you will assist and work with our construction crew to successfully complete projects to meet our customers' expectations.

CDL A Driver/Laborer Responsibilities Include:

• Transport heavy equipment, finished goods, and raw materials over land to and from or work sites.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Report defects, accidents, or violations.
• Assists crew on digging ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
• Assists in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic devices.
• Organize and retrieves tools for construction crew.
• Assists with flagging traffic.

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc).
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Able to work nights or weekends for emergency calls.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
• Valid CDL license.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
