The Class A CDL Driver Trainer is responsible for training students to get their CDL License and to be a safe driver. The incumbent would instruct students in the classroom and behind the wheel.
The Class A CDL Trainer reports to the Coordinator, Tractor Trailer Driver and Public Safety Programs and, through a combination of classroom and hands-on training, prepares students for the Class A Commercial Driver's License examination and an entry-level position in the trucking industry.
There are options for day, evening, and weekend work. Weekly hours could vary from 0 to 25 hours.
Required Qualifications
Valid Class A CDL Illinois driver's license
Minimum 2 years full time Class A CDL driving experience
A clean background and motor vehicle record such as no DUI's, felonies, or excessive speeding tickets within the past 7 years.
Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
Desired Qualifications
A willingness to be certified to teach driver education is also highly desirable.
Driver with the passenger endorsement preferred.
