Class A CDL | Night Shift Yard Jockey

Diaz Foods is looking for a reliable Yard Jockey who will be responsible for moving trailers within the yard and ensuring efficient organization of trucks, trailers, and equipment. This role requires operating tractors, trucks, and other heavy equipment to position trailers at loading docks or designated areas while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Move trailers to and from loading docks, yard locations, and staging areas.
• Maintain an organized yard by ensuring trailers are placed correctly and accessible for loading/unloading.
• Inspect trailers for damage, maintenance needs, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Communicate with warehouse, shipping, and receiving teams to coordinate trailer movements.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of tractors and trailers.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and DOT requirements.
• Keep accurate logs of trailer locations and movements within the yard.
• Assist with minor maintenance or reporting any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
• Operate equipment such as yard tractors, forklifts, or pallet jacks as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and prevent accidents.

• Valid Class A CDL driver's license (Commercial Driver's License) may be required or preferred.
• Previous experience preferred as a yard jockey, truck driver, or in a similar role is a plus.
• Ability to operate yard trucks, semi-trailers, and other heavy equipment safely.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift minimum 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
