The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for transporting scaffolding, access equipment, and related materials to and from job sites. This role combines professional driving responsibilities with hands-on loading, unloading, and material handling duties. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class B commercial vehicles to transport scaffolding and equipment to job sites.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual labor as needed.
- Secure loads in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure equipment is transported safely and efficiently.
- Follow delivery schedules and communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and job site personnel.
- Assist with material organization and inventory as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class B license.
- Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing 50-100 pounds.
- Experience loading and unloading construction materials or equipment preferred.
- Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
