As a CDL-A Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight while serving as a professional representative of our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely deliver and pick up freight at designated locations
- Plan and maintain efficient delivery routes
- Hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including operating landing gear
- Complete thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip equipment inspections
- Maintain clean, organized, and road-ready equipment
- Submit accurate daily trip reports and required documentation
- Properly utilize and maintain electronic logging (E-Log) systems
- Ensure Bills of Lading (BOLs) are completed, signed, and submitted correctly
- Promptly communicate delays, breakdowns, accidents, weather concerns, or emergencies to dispatch
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, state, federal, and company safety regulations
- Report any vehicle or equipment issues immediately
- Assist with moving inventory using a forklift when needed
- Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 1 year tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean and respectable driving record
- Ability to meet or exceed U.S. Department of Transportation medical requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to maintain logs, route information, trip documentation, and receipts
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety systems and operational controls
- Understanding of DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), inspections, and maintenance requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forklift experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer satisfaction
To successfully perform this position, candidates must be able to:
- Sit for extended periods while operating commercial vehicles
- Meet all physical qualifications associated with maintaining a valid CDL
- Have at least 20/40 vision (with corrective lenses if required)
- Possess good hearing ability
- Bend, reach, kneel, twist, climb, push, pull, and secure freight as needed
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds when necessary
This role operates in a transportation and logistics environment that may include:
- Independent work for extended periods
- Indoor and outdoor job duties
- Operation around heavy equipment and machinery
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Exposure to varying road and weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
