Full Description
Your Role as Truck Driver
Local Delivery Truck Drivers will be responsible for a vital role of safely and efficiently delivering goods to destinations across local areas providing excellent service and building relationships with current customers.
Key Job Description:
- Safely operate and maneuver delivery trucks in urban and suburban environments.
- Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring the proper handling of goods.
- Securely tie down cargo using straps, chains, or other securing devices to prevent shifting during transit.
- Inspect cargo to ensure it is properly loaded and secured according to company and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, reviewing orders, etc.
- Communicate effectively with clients, and colleagues to coordinate delivery schedules and address any concerns.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods in a timely and professional manner.
- Follow company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and delivery guidelines.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines and respond promptly to unexpected delays or changes in schedule.
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment, both inside the truck and at delivery locations.
Requirements:
- Must have valid commercial driver's (CDL) with a clean MVR.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must have a valid DOT medical card.
- Must be able to drive a forklift.
