About the Job

Job Details:

  • Class A CDL with TANKER endorsement required.
  • 3 years of verifiable experience.
  • PAY: $25 per hour starting off through the training period with a pay increase when driver obtains milk license, shows safe and responsible work ethic, and independent. Driver can expect around $1200 to $1500 gross pay per week after training period.
  • Schedule: 5 days per week with local deliveries (Carbondale or Granite City) and through training period with every other weekend off. After training period driver will work 5 days locally each week.
  • Benefits: Anthem BCBS company pays 50% of the driver (driver responsible for other 50% and all dependents) AVAILABLE DAY ONE of employment.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work with a 30-foot hose.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • No suspensions, major tickets on MVR.
  • No Clearinghouse violations.
  • Good communication skills are needed.
  • A positive attitude and professionalism are a MUST.
  • Ability to drive a manual truck preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to back up trailer.
  • Safe driving is a MUST!

The driver will pick up 2 routes (or 2 separate loads) of milk at multiple farms (in the Campbell Hill/Ava, IL area and Benton, IL) and deliver one load of raw milk to either Carbondale, IL, Granite City, IL, or O'Fallon, IL and the other load to the company lot in Jackson, MO.

A Missouri (or Illinois-depending on your home state) State Milk Haulers License is required but GNT will help the candidate to obtain a license, and train the driver on all milk board requirements. We pride ourselves in exceptional training and never send our driver to test for their milk license until they are fully prepared!

Driver would be responsible for following all FMCSA regulations and adhering to safety procedures.

Milk is 7 days a week and 365 days a year so there is NO shortage of work or job security in this area! Holidays and weekends are mandatory and are rotated to ensure that everyone gets time with their families. We are a small group that works well with each other to foster an environment that is family friendly for the driver!

About the Company

Good News Trucking is a local company based out of Washington, MO. Our service is provided to local producers (dairies) that sell their milk to co-ops but need someone to transport it. We have the awesome opportunity to keep these local dairies thriving by keeping their milk delivered on time and on schedule. It's our aim to provide the best service possible to our local producers.
